Beam Theory
Introduction
- Whenever a non-axial on a beam (i.e. force acts perpendicular to beam), there will usually be some bending.
- This leads to a bending stress being formed internally within the beam.
Shear force and Bending Moments
- The forces that act on a beam can be understood as Shear Forces or Bending Moments
